The "Cartoon zur Integration" project, taking place in Vienna from March 22–29, 2026, offers a unique platform for young immigrants to share their stories with the world through animation and cartoons.
Hosted by the Austrian-based Meine Welt association, this Erasmus+ youth exchange will bring together a total of 20 participants and 8 leaders from Austria, Turkey, Ukraine, and Georgia. The young participants, aged between 18 and 29, will work together for a week on cartoon creation, scriptwriting, and digital storytelling.
At the heart of the project is a very powerful idea: to create a safe space where immigrant youth can share their experiences. Social exclusion, stereotypes, cross-cultural communication — these are all difficult topics. But sometimes, a cartoon, a drawing, can say something far more powerful than words.
The event will take place at Sargfabrik in Vienna's 14th district. Participants will stay in shared apartments at 1150 Vienna, lunch will be provided at the café next to the training venue, and a daily allowance of €10 will be given each evening.
Another great aspect of the project is the cultural evenings. Each country brings its own flag, regional food, and a performance, allowing participants not only to learn from each other but also to truly get to know one another.
Travel expenses are covered under the Erasmus+ program. For participants from Türkiye, this limit is set at 309 Euros.
